ABSTRACT

In addition to the classical functions of the musculoskeletal system and calcium homeostasis, the function of vitamin D as an immune modulator is well established. The vitamin D receptors and enzymes that metabolize vitamin D are ubiquitously expressed in most cells in the body, including T and B lymphocytes, antigen-presenting cells, monocytes, macrophages and natural killer cells that trigger immune and antimicrobial responses. Many in vitro and in vivo studies revealed that vitamin D promotes tolerogenic immunological action and immune modulation. Vitamin D adequacy positively influences the expression and release of antimicrobial peptides, such as cathelicidin, defensin, and anti-inflammatory cytokines, and reduces the expression of proinflammatory cytokines. Evidence suggestss that vitamin D's protective immunogenic actions reduce the risk, complications, and death from COVID-19. On the contrary, vitamin D deficiency worsened the clinical outcomes of viral respiratory diseases and the COVID-19-related cytokine storm, acute respiratory distress syndrome, and death. The study revealed the need for more preclinical studies and focused on well-designed clinical trials with adequate sizes to understand the role of vitamin D on the pathophysiology of immune disorders and mechanisms of subduing microbial infections, including COVID-19.Copyright © 2023 Bentham Science Publishers.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all sectors of the sector financial system and society. The Information Technology (IT) enterprise is an critical issue of the technology-pushed information financial system of the twenty first century. The IT enterprise specially encompasses IT offerings, IT-enabled offerings (ITES), e-commerce (on line business), Software and Hardware products. Chennai being the biggest operations for India's pinnacle IT corporations like TCS, Infosys, and plenty of different CMMI-degree 5 corporations HCL, Quest Global, UST Global, Verizon, Cognizant and offerings corporations Design Edge Technologies, SRM Technologies, ePay, Paypal and greater have their head-workplaces, regional-workplaces and improvement centres. The primary IT corporations are placed in OMR, Ambattur, Guindy. This paper attempts to degree the effect of Covid -19 pandemic on IT region with the aid of using the usage of questionnaire primarily based totally 85 surveys gathered and pre posted statistics. Also, the take a look at indicates few feasible answers to the demanding situations that raised because of corona crisis. © 2022. Specialusis Ugdymas. All Rights Reserved.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 different individuals different ways affects Most of the affected and disease being admitted to hospital. headache, or taste Loss of smell, rash on the skin, fingers or toes discoloration COVID-19 virus Most infected People mild and moderate respiratory illness experience special treatment need without recover Elderly and heart problems, Diabetes, chronic respiratory disease and For those with medical problems such as cancer The chances of getting a serious illness are high. COVID-19 virus, it causes disease it how spreads find out. By washing your hands without touching your face or by frequent use of alcohol-based scrubs protect yourself and others from infection. The COVID-19 virus is transmitted saliva or comes out the affected person when coughing or sneezing Nose, so you need to observe breathing habits as well. Be informed: Protect yourself: Public consultation, Myth Busters, Questions and Answers, situational reports. The Union Health Ministry clarified on Saturday that its procurement price for the vaccines Coaxing and Covishield remains the same at 150 a dose and it will continue to provide them free to States. "It is clarified that the Government's procurement price for both Covid-19 vaccines remains 150 per dose. Kobayashi noted that experts still do not know whether a person who has been vaccinated can spread the virus. U.S. Department of Disease Control and Prevention Centers "keep an eye"on COVID-19 cases in fully vaccinated people. The vaccines can cause tiredness achiness, and fever, side effects, vast majority a only day or two and serious or dangerous Side effects actually working vaccine normal signs They are different from some of the symptoms that people experience when they are vaccinated, such as fatigue, sore throat or joint pain. These types of things are common, they appear soon after vaccination and usually go away after three to five days. © 2022 Author(s).

ABSTRACT

Apart from the physical effects of Covid-19, psychological effects are seen as well in the general population. In pregnant females, psychological impact leads to adverse pregnancy and neonatal outcomes. Due to limited data, the mental health of COVID-19 positive pregnant patients is not clear especially in relation to isolation in hospital, treatment, time and mode of delivery. Objective: To determine and compare frequency of anxiety and depression in pregnant women with and without COVID-19. Material and Methods: It was a comparative cross-sectional study that was conducted in the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, SGRH, Lahore. 60 pregnant females were enrolled and underwent nasopharyngeal swab for PCR and had HRCT to determine Covid-19 status. HADS was applied on all pregnant females to assess depression and anxiety and findings were subjected to statistical analysis. Results: The mean age, gestational age, anxiety scores and depression scores were 29.93±4.15, 31.1±6.28, 10.56±3.29 and 10.02±2.72 respectively. There were 60% Covid positive pregnant females, depression was present in 31.7% and anxiety was present in 65% females. Comparison of pregnant females with or without Covid infection in terms of depression and anxiety using independent T-test revealed that anxiety was significantly associated with Covid positive status (p=0.032), however, no significant association was seen between depression and covid status (p=0.641) (table 3). Conclusion: Covid-19 was frequently seen in pregnant females and was significantly associated with high frequency of anxiety. Depression was less commonly seen and was not significantly associated with Covid-19 infection.

ABSTRACT

The world has been stand-still by COVID-19, a respiratory syndrome. Its variable nature of outspread motivated us to study the impact of weather parameters. We emphasized our study on Delhi region. Applied the Pearson's correlation test and obtained the relation between weather conditions and COVID-19 cases then analyzed it for 5 incubation periods. We determined spread, growth, recovery, and transmission rates using popular regression-based machine learning (ML) techniques. The correlation resulted in achieving the best incubation period of 12 days in the city. We found that wind speed and precipitation levels were insignificant, whereas the notable association between Minimum temperature (Min. Temp) and Infra-Red (IR) radiative flux was determined. On stacking the regression-based models, we achieved the best accuracy for predicting the outcome of the pandemic. Our results proposed that certain prime environmental conditions are favourable for the growth of the virus and increase the chances of getting infected. The brief study is beneficial for concerned authorities to adopt adequate measures to flatten the curve. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic is the most recent threat to global health. Reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing, computed tomography (CT) scans, and chest X-ray (CXR) images are being used to identify Coronavirus, one of the most serious community viruses of the twenty-first century. Because CT scans and RT-PCR analyses are not available in most health divisions, CXR images are typically the most time-saving and cost-effective tool for physicians in making decisions. Artificial intelligence and machine learning have become increasingly popular because of recent technical advancements. The goal of this project is to combine machine learning, deep learning, and the health-care sector to create a categorization technique for detecting the Coronavirus and other respiratory disorders. The three conditions evaluated in this study were COVID-19, viral Pneumonia, and normal lungs. Using X-ray pictures, this research developed a sparse categorical cross-entropy technique for recognizing all three categories. The proposed model had a training accuracy of 91% and a training loss of 0.63, as well as a validation accuracy of 81% and a validation loss of 0.7108. © 2021 Institute of Advanced Engineering and Science.
